Players, Parents & Staff,
“At any one time, there are around 150,000 Learner drivers in Victoria. As a licensed driver you will have greater personal independence. More choices about how you want to live your life and achieve your goals.’’
“Becoming a good driver depends a lot on how well you use your time when you’re on your L plates. Being an ordinary driver is easy. Being a skilled driver takes time and effort, most of all regular practice in the driver’s seat in all types of road conditions. A good driver knows how to avoid situations that can lead to a crash. The more experience you get now, the less likely you are to be involved in a severe crash when you get your P plates. A severe injury can bring your plans for the future crashing down - being an ordinary driver is just not worth it.’’
The Traffic Accident Commission (TAC) has been our leagues major sponsor since the beginning back in 1992.
As well as providing much needed funding to ensure that our competition stays alive, they also provide us with individual club incentives and community awareness of some of the dangers on our roads.
Some targets we as a club have to meet (and exceed) include;
- Continual monitoring and recording of all L-Plate Drivers Log Book hours, which should include;
§ Driving in all road conditions (night, day, dry, wet etc.)
§ Hours to be handed in every fortnight at training.
§ We need your help parents, please keep on your boys’ backs.
§ Web site to keep an eye on; http://bendigopioneers.aflvic.com.au , and click on the L120 activities link.
- Vanessa on Tour ‘My Space’ page, huge incentives are on offer to individual clubs which include;
§ TAC will book a whole cinema in our local town to the club who gets the most people to sign up with Vanessa on My Space.
§ All Pioneers members will have free entry, with the remaining ticket sales to go back to the club and players.
§ Again parents we do need your help, all the players have been informed at training and received handouts for this event.
§ Web site to follow;

- These activities and events are on offer by the TAC to provide awareness and an understanding of what is needed to be a ‘’excellent driver” on the roads.
We at the Pioneers not only wish to develop your talents on the football ground, but also ensure you develop your skills off it.
Please feel free to call if you have any queries or comments.
