Coburg F.C met up with Frankston at Highgate Rec Reserve on Saturday in what could only be described as difficult conditions with an oppressive heat and a strong northerly wind.
The game started off slowly but as time went on Coburg ran out comfortable winners 10.5-65 to 1.4-10
With only 7 spots left to be filled on our 2012 list, it was important that the Coaches be able to see these players in match conditions and some players came to the fore.
Michael Tanner was solid in defence and Luke Cartelli and Perth recruit Daniel Venditti were important around the ground.
Captain Nick Carnell showed the benefit of having his best pre season in years and was instrumental in several goals and Calder Cannons recruit Ozgur Uysal showed that he is up to the level of VFL and could be an exciting senior player.
As there were regular rotations due to the heat there was no specific outstanding players.
