Welcome to 2023 Footy season!
2023 is set to be an exciting time for our club with the use of our fantastic new club rooms/facilities. Our senior mens, women and colts are now also in full swing and the grounds are often buzzing with activity.
This year (as a Junior Club) we are aiming to interact more with the senior players introducing a “buddy up” system to encourage the players to interact between age groups and skill levels. Our focus is to set a high standard of “Fair Play” and positive encouragement towards team mates and opposition players alike. We will have access to mental health support facilities for use on and off the footy field. Our canteen will be bigger and better than ever this year and we look forward to plenty of parents and friends helping out. Any time you can spare would be appreciated.
2023 season will utilise the Play HQ system again for registration and fixtures. This system is used by many other sporting codes so you may well have an account already, but if not head to https://www.playhq.com/. Registrations will open on January 1st via the Play HQ platform. https://www.playhq.com/afl/register/d0d8fa
Once again we have kept our registration fees as low as possible -- Junior Player club registration is $144 + league levy of $16; Youth Player club registration is $169+ league levy $16.
Training will be in full swing early February for youth teams and from March 4th for all junior teams. We will again welcome our little superstars of AUSKICK to sessions set to start March 24th on Ferguson oval. Registration for this is via https://www.playhq.com/afl/register/382d89
The communication App introducted previously (Team App) proved successful, providing quick and immediate alerts directly to your phone without the need to scroll through Facebook. All correspondence will continue to be put through this App going forward i.e. game changes, cancellations, fundraising and uniform announcements, venue changes etc. Please download Team App and register before the season commences if you have not done so already. Instruction on downloads are available at the end of this document or any of our committee members will be able to help. Please also speak to your team manager and coach to be added to your teams facebook group for direct communication from them about your indivindual team.
As a Junior club all the committee members are volunteers who donate their time to ensure the players can take the field. This volunteer work varies and consists of many many different roles from coaching, canteen help, setting up the goal post pads, first aid officers, ground inspection prior to the game, administration, time keeping, scoring, fund raising and many more. Without these roles we simply cannot operate. We are always desperate for parent help. Any time you or a family member can donate to help would be greatly appreciated. We encourage you to be pro-active and get involved in our Club.
If you have any questions or comments on the upcoming season, please feel free to contact me or one of the committee members.
Thank you for your support and welcome to 2023.
