It's been 19 years since Maroochydore's Senior team has played off in a grand final.
That last appearance (against Aspley) yielded the club's fourth consecutive BAFL premiership and the third in a row for super coach Neil Bourke.
In fact, it was the 8th consecutive grand final appearance (for 6 wins) for Maroochydore; and up until that stage they had played in all but 3 grand finals since joining the competition 26 years earlier in 1970.
It was a remarkable run that was unfortunately followed by an absence from the comeptition and then season's without finals success.
However, they now have the opportunity to end the drought. But to do so they must over come minor premiers Mayne.
The Roos headed into Saturday's game without captains Jarryd Hill and Jack Gale who missed after a brutal clash with Mayne the previous week. However, coach Brett Maloney showed he has depth at his disposal after their replacements stood up.
The first quarter was fast and free-flowing with Noosa taking a quarter time lead after some innacuracy in front of goals from the Roos. The Roos took a slim half time lead, slightly extended in in the third quarter before the flood gates opened up in the last.
"They showed today they had some steel about them" coach Brett Maloney said. "We brought young players into the side and they all grabbed their aopportunities.
"They come into the side knowing we expect them to fill their role, and abosulteley full credit to them, they did."
"It was a huge effort but it was only half done."
The Grand Final will be played at Moreton Bay Sporting Complex this Saturday from 2pm.
Maroochydore will be holding a supporters breakfast at Fisherman's Rd from 9-11am followed by supporters bus taking everyone to the game. Bus cost is $10pp. Book your set by emailing info@maroochydoreroos.com or text/call Matt Bury on 0408 400 999.

Reserves
The Reserves fell at the hands of Noosa in a spriitied display which saw them reel in a 3 goal margin to get within a point in the last quarter and looked to have all the momentum.
However, the momentum was stopped by a Noosa goal and it appeared the boys had used up all their petrol tickets and had nothing left in the tank.
It was a great season for the boys under first year coach Ash Simpson who did a terrific job despite being hit with some injuries last in the season.

Colts
Paul Meehan's Colts side had the chance for redemption against an Aspley side that put Maroochydore to the sword two weeks previous.
Aspley had been the form team for the year and unfortunately for Maroochydore they continued that that establish a four goal first quarter lead in which they never looked like relinquishing.
