It’s great that 10 of our teams made the finals. Good luck to you all – I know you can do it.
Player numbers have concerned me over recent years and I’d love for you all to assist reverse that trend. We really want to find a Forest Allambie advocate in every school who can assist drum up interest in playing for next season. All we need from that person are the contact details of interested parents/players and we’ll do the rest. We’d particularly like to get more teeball teams, and girls as young as 4 years are participating so let’s start young. And don’t forget that a lot of mums play too – why not you?
It was extremely pleasing when 1 of our members Jane Zuffo won 5th prize in the Play For Purpose raffle late last year. The prizes in this raffle are fantastic and 50% of all ticket sales goes back to MWSA to assist fund facilities for the association. The next draw is 3/3/20 and there will be 7,525 prize winners with a $250,000 prize package to the main winner. If you want to buy a ticket go to https://www.facebook.com/playforpurpose.com.au/photos/a.293204951182142/809353072900658/?type=3&theater.
There’s a few things to highlight to you all:-
- To be in the finals a player must have played 5 round games. The detail of this rule is on the MWSA website (under Our Comp/Rules/General Rules section 17)
- The junior presentation is at Forestville RSL at 4.30pm on 22/3/20
- Each team should be providing their Players Player & Coaches Award choices in the next few weeks
- Softballs Olympic squad will be announced fairly soon and its likely MWSA will have a few representatives – more on this later
- Thanks also to all those that answered our survey on the newsletter.
Is anyone interested in taking over the newsletter/website responsibilities for the club. Theresa Amos has kindly continued to do it again this year even though she’s no longer involved with the club. Theresa’s done a wonderful job but we need someone new to take over.
If you have any questions or feedback please give me a call on 0417 049 749.
Best of luck.
