Ian Hall, Stan Alves, Dee More & Hamish More, pictured at the recent AFL National Coaching Conference held at Adelaide Oval (Jan 31 - Feb 2). Stan Alves is the AFL Coaching Ambassador and a Level 3 High Performance Coach. He played 283 AFL games with Melbourne/North Melbourne and was a senior coach of St Kilda for five years, including coaching their 1997 winning Grand Final team.
Recently, the three members from Chittering's Youth Coaching teams ,travelled to Adelaide to attend the 2014 National Coaching Conference. The conference was held at Adelaide Oval, and brought together 400 coaches from all accross Australia including approximately 50 from W.A.
Keynote presenters included, Brenton Sanderson, Mark Evans, Darren Burgess, Stan Alves, David Koch , Ken Hinkley. Dorothy Hisgrove, Damien Farrow, Niall Moyna and Jan Stirling . A number of current and former AFL coaches & players also conducted presentations along with many successful coaches from various different sporting codes.
The Chittering trio of Ian Hall (Level 1 Youth), Dee More (Level 1 Youth) and Hamish More (Level 2) attended a number of lectures and practical sessions over a three day period , gaining valuable knowledge accross a wide range of topics. Some of these included:
Coaching review & assessments, effective forward structure, developing and coaching elite youthgame sense, fitness and training, effective trainig sessions, Running patterns, coaching defence , on field leadership, stoppages, ruckwork and talls, game day environment, running a successful club, and club administraton as well as many others. All presentations were very informative.
The team are looking forward to sharing the benefits of this conference with the playing group.
