Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July will be AFL Canberra's Call To Arms Round.
Call To Arms is an initiative by the Cancer Council to raise funds and awareness of men's cancers.
Ainslie
Football Club Senior players are giving their support to the Call To
Arms by pledging a percentage of their match fees to this worthwhile
cause.
Players will also be wearing yellow socks and yellow arm bands in support of Call To Arms.
Please
show your support by donating to the collectors at the Ainslie v
Tuggeranong game to be played at Greenway on Saturday 3rd July.
Facts about Cancer:
1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they turn 85.
More than 62,500 Australian men are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year.
While
cancer is one of the leading causes of death among Australian men,
around one third of all cancers can be prevented through healthy
lifestyle choices.
Excluding non-melanoma skin cancers, the most
common cancers facing men in Australia are prostate, bowel, melanoma
and lung cancer. Prostate cancer is more common in men than breast
cancer is in women.
Donations can be made
to the club during Call To Arms Round or at a local NAB branch
throughout Canberra during the week leading up to Call To Arms Round.
