           ABOUT US

The Club was formed in 1946 and competed in the Mountain District
Football Association until 1966 when the MDFA amalgamated with the
Yarra Valley Football League to form the Yarrra Valley-Mountain
District Football & Netball League (YVMDFNL).
We now compete in the AFL Outer East League which was formed in 2019 as a result of the merger of the SEFNL and the YVMDFNL

The founding fathers of the Club were, in the main, returned
servicemen who lived in Upwey and the adjoining township of Tecoma
(thus the name Upwey-Tecoma). They chose the tiger as the Club's emblem
and so the Club is more commonly known as the "Upwey Tigers". Our home
ground is officially called the "Alistair Gillies Oval" but everyone
knows it simply as "The Dome"

For the uninitiated, Upwey is situated some 35 kilometres east of
Melbourne, which is the capital city of the Australian state of
Victoria, and the other half of the Club's name, Tecoma, is another
couple of kilometres further east. We are a couple of the many small
townships to be found in the Dandenong Ranges, which is a popular
destination for day trippers and picnicers who are entranced by the
natural scenic beauty and the many wonderful gardens in the area.

The Club fields

Senior, Reserves and Under 19 teams

in the AFL Outer East Premier Division competition,

We also field 4 Netball Sides ,and a Senior Womens Football Team

Following Covid-19 protocols the rooms are a registered venue with an associated QR Code, which is displayed in a number of locations including at the entry, upstairs, at the bar, change rooms and the canteen. Please ensure that you take a moment to scan the QR code and complete the check in process on arrival. This is not an automatic system so you will need to check in each time you come down to the club until further notice.
