Match Report (by China McCall, "Advocate", Monday, 16th September, 1996)
Yeoman won back-to-back seconds premiership in defeating South Burnie by 11 points in a low-scoring, scraggly affair.
The game was up for the taking at three-quarter time, but Scott "Flounder" Whiteroad came off the bench for the Robins and kicked three match-winning goals.
Other good players for Yeoman were Michael Phillips, Keep, Hibben and Keygan, while for the Hawks none did it better than Field, Munday, Purton and Lynch.
The Barry Walker Medal went to Gavin Field.
China's votes:
3 - Michael Phillips (Yeoman) - a solid contributor for four quarters across the half-back line
2 - Gavin Field (South Burnie) - knocked up getting possessions all round the ground
1 - Steven Keep (Yeoman) - time and time again won the hard ball for his team mates
Mike Sage Gift
