The grand final for the premiership of the Table Cape Association was played on the Wynyard Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon, and was won by Yeoman. The final was won by Flowerdale, but having won the minor premiership, Yeoman had the right to a grand final. There was a large attendance of spectators, and keen interest was taken in the game. At times the scores were equal but there was 70 seconds time off, and during this time Yeoman scored the two goals which decided the game.
In the first quarter, with the aid of a light southerly breeze, Flowerdale obtained a lead, the scores at the first change being Flowerdale 4.3, Yeoman 1.2. During the second term Yeoman had the best of the game, and at half time had an advantage of a few points. The game from then on was evenly contested, and within a minute of the final bell Flowerdale had drawn level with Yeoman. The minor premiers rallied, however, and scored two goals before the game ended, giving them victory by 12 points.
The final scores were:
Flowerdale 7.12 (54 points)
The best players for the winners were Smith (2), Franks, Ward, Bramich, Gardam and House; and for Flowerdale, Conroy, Hartley, Bower, Hooper, Jones and Garland.
Alan Sutton, of Burnie, umpired the game well.
