TOUGH OPENING FOR MAGPIES IN 2015
The Western Magpies will find out very quickly where they sit in the pecking order when they have the toughest opening two rounds of any club in the 2015 QAFL season as they host 2014 undefeated Premiers Morningside in Round 1 at Chelmer on Saturday, 11th Aprilthen follow up with runners-up Labrador, also at Chelmer, on Saturday, 18th April.

The Western Magpies Reserves won through to the second week of the finals with a resounding 17 point win over Broadbeach at Broadbeach on Sunday.

Another Test For Magpies
The fifth placed Western Magpies face another test of their finals credentials on Saturday when they travel to the Gold Coast to take on the the fourth placed Labrador, another ex-NEAFL team.
The Magpies have been there own worst enemy in their three losses to date with poor decision making and inaccurate disposal costing them costly turnovers which have been punished on the scoreboard.

Plenty of women will be playing their first footy games this weekend, as the new Queensland Women Amateur Football Association (QWAFA) kicks off.
Created with the view to providing clubs a chance to lay the foundations for their women�s teams and develop players in a more social environment, the competition will include UQ, Carrara, Coorparoo/Zillmere, Caboolture and the Western Magpies.

Every NEAFL player now has a QAFL home as well, after three mini-drafts held this week.
NEAFL teams have a primary list of 35 players, meaning up to 13 players could be available to play for the QAFL club to which they are aligned, each week.

U16s Training Camp

QAFL Draw released
AFL Queensland today released the 2014 Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) draw, marking the first season of the restructured competition
The season will commence on April 5, with the final home and away round to be played on August 23. The 2014 season will consist of 18 rounds played over 21 weeks with each club playing 18 matches.
