Round 17. Karingal v Pines. 20Aug2011.
If you talk the talk you’ve gotta walk the walk and in a rather dour effort v bottom team Morn last week our Snrs did just enough to win by 44 pts. ‘Crash’ booted 6 and ‘Whitey’ bagged 3. Reserves topped up their wins in defeating Morn by 123 pts. Ramma led the innings with 5 and Jazza snicked 4. Second placed Karingal is our target for another snr win today; make sure of it and especially so for Beau Hendry who today plays his 100th club game (89sr,10rs). Beau commenced in our Snrs/Res whilst still a Thirds player and has not missed a game since coming on to our Snr list in 2007. Gordo has a family wager that Beau and Guy combined won’t ever play more games than him. Don’t know about that one Big G, the boys are looking good. Maybe Joel Brunn will play his 100th res game today. Another tough day for our handful of valiant Thirds lads last week and with a bye today you only have one more game to see out. Not nice to hear that T-Manager Ralph Ludewig was admitted to hospital last Sat night suffering from chest pains. We all hope that he is ok and is back with us today. The Elim final has been altered from our ground 3 Sept and will be played at Frankston on Sunday 4 Sept. Not hard to work out why. Our club sponsors are always appreciated and today we say thanks to past players Kris and Lee Fisher of KLF Bricklaying. You can ring Boof and Ox on 040035350. Got engineering problems? Ring long time supporter George Fergus at BFA Engineering Solutions 97998800. Lots of others to thank including Findlays Meats Frankston and of course AW Panels, thanks Jack. Our cricketers are now well into their pre-season practice sessions at Saxon Sports Centre each Wed evening, 7pm. New players welcome. Tonight at our rooms we have the Special Mystery Nite, 7pm-9. Don’t know much about this one, we’ll just have to be there to find out.
