Pines Club Notes. Round 16.
Morn v Pines. 13 Aug 2011. Playing against a club that has two of their teams as ladder leaders is always a hard day for anybody and so it was last week until our seniors after being 2 goals down at half time raised their pre-finals attitude and de-clawed the Stonecats by 1pt. Shaun Stewart and ‘Crash’ were our main goalkickers with 3 each. Well done to Gary and the team on this very significant win which is our first against YCW since Rd 8 2006. Another one soon. We actually lost 0.42% in that 1pt only result so a big victory v Morn today is a must. Reserves, although matching it with the stoners in the first term were bowled out by 58 pts. Ramma kicked 5 of our 6 goals. Today we say well done to three milestone game players. Joel Brunn plays his 100th reserves game. He has also played 33 snrs gms. Daniel Green plays his 50th res/club game, he was team BF in 2009 and his award for most courageous last year states his style of play. Shaun Stewart plays his 50th club game (31sr,18res.) Good news from Pauline Bartczak in that Chris is improving and was able to return to work recently. He still sees a number of his old team-mates but he does miss playing. Chris who would love to be out there with you and is looking forward to seeing more Pines wins. We can do that for you Chris, best wishes and we hope to see you at the games soon. Congratulations to Brendon Moore’s daughter Mikaela on recently being winner of the Commonwealth Junior Karate Championship in her age group. The 201I Elim and First Semis will be held at our ground and our seniors are getting set for finals action and our reserves have a slim chance. Tomorrow at the Eric Bell we host four semi finals of the Super Roles comp. Gates open at 8am and there will be a small entry fee. Games start at 9am, canteen will be open. Bar commences at 10.30. Pines’ latest secret weapon revealed-a tent full of women on the fenceline during a game.
