Pines Club Notes. Round 14. Langwarrin v Pines. 30 July 2011.
Seniors with a 78 pt win over Bbeach have jumped back into the five but there are still hard games ahead and even LWN today cannot be taken lightly. ‘Crash’ Craddock was good with 8 of our 22 goals. This is the highest winning margin since 2004 when we beat Rosebud by 75 and the highest against BB since they came into this division in 2005. Reserves grasped a spirited 1 goal win over third placed BB. Ramma kicked 4 and Hayden Clancy overflowed with a determined 3. Can our reserves crack it for a spot in the big five? As we close to the end of our fixtured season, this column on behalf of Pines Football Club wishes to thank all clubs for loaning us players to help fill our depleted Thirds team. No club has let us down this year with some even coming forward on the day and basically asking how many lads did we require. Some have even organized allotted players to be available should we need them. Our team has had around 12-15 players each week and although winless they are proudly sticking together. Most of the team are eligible for next year and the good word is that there are a number of good lads coming on from our Juniors. We hope so as the last thing that we would want is for our Thirds to fold. Keen readers of the footy record may have seen the written credits given to our lads by other clubs. Well done to our players and also to their coach Jason and their manager Leanne the Lovely for sticking to their allotted tasks. There are a number of functions coming up and on the 6 Aug all ladies are invited to a Chicken, Wine and Champagne luncheon. Cost is $30. There should be good fun for all at the 80’s Dress Up night on 13 Aug. Yeah, let’s do the time warp again. Mullet hairstyles will be the go and Gordo can assist with dress style of the era. Entry fee is set at a 1980’s cost of only $10. Hope that those dates are correct. The social calendar keeps a’changing.
