PINES CLUB NOTES. Round 10. Chelsea v Pines. 21 June 2014
Our Past Players Group and our Club Historian are always on the lookout for new, altered or missing contact details for Pines people. These need not be just for past players but anyone who would like to be on our mail (E-mail) list. You will receive regular updates of PPGroup activities from Mark Dunsford who has come on board this year as our PPG coordinator. Mark, a past Premiership player, attended a reunion day last year and foresaw the need for a speaker’s luncheon type format on these days rather than groups standing around with beers and finger food. The first of these luncheons was held a few weeks ago and was very successful. The next will be on 5 July v YCW. There will also be a 1994 Premiers Reunion on this day. You can contact Mark D on 97885788 or Paul W on 97866690 if you wish to register your contact details. Your regular club notes (extended) can also be seen our club website. The heavy rain before, during and after the seniors game was not looked on as a standards leveller by our confident supporters but oh boy this was no place for skills and fancy footwork. Pines, in being first to the ball, got in front, stayed in front and splashed down with a 6pt win over top team Mornington. Best; Chris Guganovic, Jake Berry and Nick Wilcox. Shaun White kicked 4gls. Reserves, although controlling a large share of the play just could not find goals or were thwarted at each attempt. Best; Gordon Hendry, Patrick Jackson (nephew of Robert) and Rhys Chalkley (son of Barrie). Our Thirds could only manage 2 gls again in another loss and we say thanks to Mornington for loaning us 4 pups to make up our team. Best; Kyall Reynolds, Jesse Budziarski and Jordan Frawley. Our club extends deepest sympathy to Gavin and the Moxham family on the passing of John who was an inaugural year player for our club. RIP. The Last Bud.
