Peninsula Young Gun - 2010
Guy Hendry Guy commenced his football career in the Pines Junior Football Club Under 9’s. He has not played anywhere else except Pines. Guy represented the Frankston & District Junior Football League in the Under 9’s, 11’s, 13’s & 15’s. A very talented footballer, he won the Best & Fairest in the Under 9’s and again in the Under 12’s and was also Best on Ground in the Under 10’s GrandFinal. Guy also won a Premiership in the Under 11’s and was also Best on Ground in that particular GrandFinal. One of Guy’s highlights of his career and one that not many players can attest to was to run out in the Senior game with his father Gordon and his brother Beau. His father Gordon was awarded MPNFL Playing Life Membership for reaching the magical 300 senior games and he is still playing and leading the way for Pines FC, now he is joined by both his sons. Guy’s ambition is to play in a Premiership with Pines and attain their 175 games for Life Membership like his father. Pines Senior Coach, Gary Connolly, “Guy has shown maturity beyond his years at training and on match days, playing a vital key role in defence” Congratulations to Guy and may he continue to have a very successful season with Pines FC.
