New model for representative football

A new format will be introduced for representative football in Bundaberg in the coming season.
The changes flow on from the decision that Wide Bay Revolution will not be part of the NPL in South-East Queensland this year.
Under the new model, Wide Bay Revolution teams will play about 10 games, mainly against NPL teams from the South-East.
The Wide Bay Revolution players will also play about 10 further games for their city of origin in an intercity series involving teams from Bundaberg, Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Gympie.
These teams will also include players from the grassroots clubs in each of the centres playing and training alongside the Wide Bay Revolution players.
Gladstone will also be part of the intercity competition.
Wide Bay Revolution technical director Bill Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing the coaching and development of teams from all centres and is seeking expressions of interest from prospective coaches of the Bundaberg Revolution teams (see separate item on the home page of this website).
Trials for the Bundaberg Revolution squads are scheduled to commence at Martens Oval on Monday, March 17.
Further information about the changes will be published on this website later this month.
