Field 2 closed for season

The draws for several senior and junior competitions have been revised, effective from the start of July, as a result of Football Bundaberg's decision to discontinue using field 2 for the rest of the season.

The field could not be fully prepared for the season due to the rain in Bundaberg from Australia Day to the start of the season and efforts to get it up to the desire stated have been unsuccessful.

Additionally, there have been a number of knee injuries in games on this field, for which the loose surface might have been a contributing factor.

In these circumstances, the management committee felt bound to close field 2 to all games, training, warm-ups and other activities for the rest of the season.

Football Bundaberg had scheduled a major overhaul of field 2 for the coming off-season before the rain impacts were known and that can now be brought forward.

This will be similar to the work carried out on field 1 between the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Three ladies division 2 games will be played on one field on some Friday nights, starting at the earlier time of 6pm and finishing just before 10pm, to enable all of the regular Friday night games to be played at Martens Oval on that night.
