History

North Pine - The name and district of North Pine started on the northern banks of the North Pine River, however it's name was changed to Petrie after explorer Tomas Petrie in 1910

1974 - The North Pine United soccer club was formed in 1974, originally playing its home games on the centre arena of the Lawnton Showgrounds.

Unsure of how many original members or teams the club had at this time?

1977 - Started junior football and North Pine joined the Brisbane North Junior Soccer Association in 1977.

Bob Brock - The park was named after Robert Thomas Brock:

Robert Thomas Brock was the Shire’s first State Emergency Service controller from April 1977 to May 1980. He was a police cadet and an officer in the R.A.A.F. before becoming an air traffic controller. He campaigned in the 1979 Council election obtaining the highest number of votes in Division 2. He wanted to play the National Anthem at the beginning of all Council meetings. He lost his seat in the 1982 election.

The club name "The Gorilla's" has no reference to the Alma Park Zoo, also in Dakabin.

1983 - The original clubrooms were build at Bob Brock Park, Marsden Road Dakabin in 1983 but with numerous extensions and renovations our clubrooms were far different then from the ones you see today, our clubrooms, change and referees rooms all with toilet and shower facilities, full canteen and bar facilities with seating for up to 80 guests are the best in the competition, all with wheelchair access.
