Douglas United Football Club Inc

History

Douglas United Football Club started as the Mossman Soccer Club, playing their matches at Mossman High School. Soon after, a junior section of the Club was formed. DUFC won two Second Division titles in the late 70s as well as the Bush Pilots Cup. As the Club continued to grow through the hard work of volunteers and sponsors, so too did the facilities at Cassowary Park. The facilities include a clubhouse, a member’s bar, kitchen, home and away changing rooms, a caretaker’s residence and two equipment sheds.

Seniors will be playing in Port Douglas at the Sport’s Complex. In 2010, the Club won the minor premiership, the grand final and the Crad Evans trophy. In 2012, playing in the Premier League, Douglas United shocked everyone by claiming the title. In 2013 DUFC won the inaugural FNQ Cup competition, defeating Mareeba in the final. In 2015 the Dragons won the league, grand final and Crad Evans trophy treble. Further more, winning 1stDivision in 2017 after an epic match, the final penalty being converted on the stroke of Mid-Night.
