TRAINING AND INJURY PREVENTION
Having appeared alongside colleagues from "Vision of Movement" at our Rams 2016 Season Launch in early April, many of us at the club will be familiar with Anne-Marie's face. An accredited Physio, Anne-Marie has been an integral part of the Rams for some time, and last season in particular was invaluable for several players and teams dealing with, and looking to prevent injury.
With newly emerged technology particuarly relevant to Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries (ACL), Ann-Marie is offering her services and access to professional "Vi Move" screening programmes to assist our Rams Players with injury prevention and rehabilitation.
As her presentation at Season Launch showed, unfortunately female players are several times more likely than men to suffer ACL injuries, and all too often players are prematurely reintroduced to play and last just weeks before re-injury. Demonstrating the very basic screeing tests, our very own Leena Khamis who has herself overcome ACL problems, showed the gathered parents and players the value and simplicity of the technology available to RAMS this year.
In 2016 Rams players are encouraged to contact Ann-Marie regarding simple screeing processes, and to learn about ways in which she can help improve training habits and if required, customise injury prevention programs for individual players.
ALSO all RAMS players can attend a Sports Injury Clinic in Mount Annan, from 4pm Wednesday Afternoons, where any questions or worries can be discussed and answered. Feel free to make the most of this opportunity to stay informed.
Anne-Marie will be the RAMS Game-Day physio this year and will do her best to be available for all teams this Season. To contact her if you or a player need an appointment or to have an assessment her contact number is 0430 217 392
