Good morning Ladies,
Play in the Inaugural BDAFL Women's Competition in 2015.
The Committee and members of Wyong Lakes AFC are very excited about being able to assist in providing this opportunity and have been working hard to make it possible and we would like to provide you with an update of what we know at the moment and ask for your assistance.
We have received a number of emails asking questions about the competition and we'll try and answer as many as I can now. Having said that on Monday the 16th of February 2015, the BDAFL is holding a meeting to discuss and finalise arrangements for the inaugural competition and we will know more after that.
The competition will be played in line with the BDAFL men's competition, so games will be played on Saturday with the exception of a possible couple of Sunday games. The drawer will be out well in advance so we will have plenty of notice in advance of Sunday games.
At this stage preliminary arrangements for the competition (to be confirmed) are:
- 14 players per team, with the ability to be reduced to 12 players per team;
- Ability to interchange players between teams to enable the minimum number to be achieved
- 20 minute quarters with no time on
- Season to commence on 2 May with a Gala Day to be held on 18 April.
One question we need to provide feed back on include the preferred time for home games. The men's competition basically runs on 10am, 12pm and 2pm start times. Please email be back what times you prefer and I'll collate the responses. One of the things we will need to show them by that time is that we have enough players. To that end could we ask you all to register online by
clicking on this link. That way we can go to the BDAFL and say we have X number of players.
There is no obligation if you find it is not for you or change your mind about playing.
Club wise Registration will be $50.00. We will organise jumpers for you and would like some input re same. Would you like to play in the same design jumpers as the rest of the club or would you like a little pink incorporate into the collar and cuffs for example. Again please send us some feedback.
Do you have any leads we can follow up on for a coach
(we have a coach from another club that has expressed interests although if there are any other people that you know who would fit the profile don't hesitate to let us know), a manager, water runners etc.?
Thanks in advance for your assistance and we look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
