Second game for the season had us at home against the Entrance Bateau Bay.
We were short for numbers missing Taj who was away and Travis who sprained his ankle on a jumping castle the night before the game. With a few players from EBB team the game started and the first quarter was all one way (Not Ours). Second quarter we were given another player from the EBB team which allowed the game to open up a bit. The hot weather was getting to the younger ones in our team and by half time a few were getting tired. The second half had our team supported again with players from the opposition who put in a very good effort as well. I sure that all of our team managed to get involved in the game at various stages. Excellent effort put in by Jackson and Cam.
Player of the game for his nonstop effort was awarded to Cam.

Although round three for the League, Sundays match against The Entrance Bateau Bay was the 1st actual game for our U13's side and boy how proud was the Coach. In what would be better described as a hot summers day, where suns cream and hats were essential, both teams were exposed to some exhausting conditions. The score board was no indicator of the strength and determination displayed by our boys. As individuals they played some extraordinary football, but as a team still very much in its formation, we lapsed a little in our positional play. Our side never gave up which was displayed in the clear win of the 4th quarter where our young guns, after facing three gruelling quarters, hit the ground with some real pride and self determination. There were plenty of cheers from our supporters who were as pleased as the team when we made a mark on the score board and better still kicked our 1st goal. When you have a side who don't give up after 45 minutes of playing a game, which is a new sport to most of them, you know it will be an enjoyable year.
Jack Harris and Brad Cleverley who signed on the morning of the game proved to be star recruits. In the absence of anyone on the bench our 'on-ballers' never stopped running with our centre, Zac Watkins dominating possession and receiving the Award for the day. A special thanks to youngsters Jackson Cogden and Beau Smith who attempted their own version of 'David and Gooliath' in their relentless attack on their older and much bigger opponents.
Well done Team.
