Newcastle City full-forward Courtney Knight kicked the required six goals to take his seasons tally to the magical 100 during the second quarter against Terrigal Avoca at Hylton Moore Oval. Going on to kick eleven for the match the Blues eventually won by 86-points. The First Division side have now moved into top spot on the ladder with a crushing 146-point win and the Under 18's have finally made their way into the Top-4 at the right time of the year winning by 67-points.
In Sunday's re-scheduled matches at Nelson Bay the Under 18's had a comfortable win against the Roosters with the side combining well in the second half with some great passages of play.
The First Division match turned out to be a farce with the "home" side forfeiting the match due to inadequate numbers. An extremely frustrating situation for the 22 Newcastle City players who made the trip down on a Sunday after the long trip to the Central Coast on the Saturday. Thanks also to the trainers, water carriers, volunteers, official and supporters who made the trip down to support the side. A very disappointing result considering the circumstances surrounding the matches postponement in the first instance.
