Our senior lads showed great character to withstand huge pressure, many tight contests and some significant injuries to finish on top in the game and get to the top of the table for the first time this year. Too many good players to mention but Stewy and Bottles showed great leadership to the younger players. It was a real team effort in the end - well done lads!!!
While our Firsts need to consolidate that win this week against Killarney Vale, our attention really turns to our Ressies and Thirds in their top-of-the-table clashes with leaders Nelson Bay. This week is a chance to prove our boys can be a real threat come finals time. Good luck boys and we’re sure you’ll do us proud.
Our Bluebirds had their second “win” via forfeit last week but a chance for their first real win beckons this week. The girls have been improving every week as they get to know each other better so let’s hope this week is the week!
This week sees Ladies Day and our club will show our appreciation to all the women who help and support us. As with all clubs, we wouldn’t have the success we do without the contribution of our ladies – thanks and we hope you enjoy your day at the footy today!
Lets’ get back to the Cooks Hill Hotel after the games to celebrate our teams, ladies and supporters.
