Gun centre half forward Michael Kemp celebrated his debut season with Newcastle City in style when he won the Clubs "Steve Wilmott Award" for the Best and Fairest player in the Black Diamond Cup competition.
Young gun Mitchell Knight was runner up to Kemp in a nail-biting count with only one vote seperating the pair.
With more than 100 of the club faithful in attendance the Presentation evening which was held last Friday night at the Cambridge Hotel was a superb evening hosted by the affable Deedy and Duggo combination.
The club celebrated the end of a fantastic year winning the Club championship and Premierships in 1st Division and Under 18's just reward for a long hard year. Unfortunatley on the day the Black Diamond Cup side were unable to get over the Hawks but will be rearing to go in Round 1, 2007.
Other major award winners were Mark Wheeler who won the 1st Division Best and Fairest Award whilst Michael Atkinson took out the Under 18's Award.
Tim Cotter was rewarded for his contribution to the Club by winning the Clubperson of the Year award whilst outgoing President Mark Hope received the "Col Neighbour Award" for outstanding contribution to NCAFC over a long period.
