Newcastle City enjoyed a day out at the picturesque Wyong ground with 3 wins. The day started with an Under 18's side recording a strong win, and showing the benefits of having a full side. Two of the sides newcomers were amongst the best and as predicted the side will only get better as the season progresses.
1st Division also had a comprehensive victory with some old faces making a comeback and some new ones making an impression. Clarkey and Harro both kicked five goals and another impressive all round effort by the side keeps them on par with the top 4 sides in the grade.
The Black Diamond Cup side had a slow start and we saw a very even first half. Mitchell Rawson impressed in his first senior game, after also receiving BOG honours in the 18's.
Stimpy was at his running best, Marty ran into some form and Courtney had a seemingly quiet day but still wound up with another seven to add to his tally. With Killarney Vale soundly beaten by Cardiff we find ourselves on the top of the ladder, a just reward for the players, committee, coaches and everyone who puts in around the club.
This week we are back at No. 1 to take on Gosford in what should be a great day of football. Let's hope we get a big crowd in attendance.
