Former Blues Best and Fairest Brendan "Dooley" McGrath is seemingly on the right track to make his way into the Eastlake Demons Senior AFL Canberra team this season. After a Premiership with the Reserves team in 2006 and a solid pre-season in 2007 Dooley was named on the interchange for the Demons trial game against the Albury Tigers. We wish the mad bugger all the best for the 2007 season.
As viewed on the Eastlake Football Club Website:
Senior Squad v Albury Tigers Fri 16th March
With half the side under the age of 21, the Albury Tigers present an awesome preseason challenge for the young Demons. Captain Coach Nathan Clarke and star defender Ben Collins will be the elder statesmen of the team at 27 years of age. The outing will also mark the first game for new recruit Aaron Rogers in Demon colours. Other big name recruit, Stafford Cooper is still one week away from pulling on an Eastlake jumper for the first time.
The team is:
B Aaron Bayley Aaron Bruce Jake Gumley
HB Mark Kimball Tim Gray Leigh McMahon
C Andrew Nunn Matt Chamberlain Dean Roulstone
HF Nathan Clarke Aaron Rogers Matt Williams
F Simon O'Brien Ben Collins George Fitzgibbon
Foll Daniel Ford Sean Clarke Jeremy Stiller
