A weekend of big results for the Blues last weekend with Ressies firstly overcoming a determined Wyong outfit, then Thirds consolidating their ladder position with a good win over Lake Mac and then Firsts seeing the return of some payers and returning to their game plan with an emphatic win over an undermanned Lake Mac.
The highlight of the day was our great clubman Webby (Chris Webster) playing his 250th senior game for the club, and kicking goal of the year in the process. His snap in the last quarter of the Thirds game was just the icing on the cake – magnificent achievement Webby! In another milestone achievement Big O (Owen Dawes) played his 150th senior game, celebrating with 7 goals for the Ressies. Well done O and thanks for your contribution to the club as well.
Our great day on the field was capped off with an exciting night of racing in the clubrooms with the running of the 11th annual Newcastle City Cup. Not hugely attended but still a success for the club and the people there enjoyed the night. After some exciting lead-up races, the feature race was won by the Enright, Stewart, Anderson, Fiji syndicate. A big thanks to Jimmy and Tubs for organising and Ryan, Stumpy and Daryl for running the night.
This week, we’d like to thank all our players sponsors for sticking to the club and supporting their players: Newcastle Fire Extinguisher Services, Permobil, Scaff Australia, Mark Hope, Andrew and Jenny Crace, Jack Degilio and Complete Dental
