In wet and windy conditions at Seaman Oval the Newcastle City Blues were unable to overcome a determined Warners Bay to finish 38-points down in a dour contest.
With the atmosphere reminiscent a of ghost town pre-match with no other games being played the match never really reached great heights with a low scoring scrappy game on offer for the small crowd in attendance.
The Blues only managed one goal each quarter in a game the team would rather forget. The second chance is now off the agenda for the boys with a 1st Semi Final booked in for week one of the finals.
Luke Rawnsley got the mug for the night and battled as hard as ever. Tim Cotter, Mitch Niland, Kelso and Marty Dinneen were others to show some fight with no player really taking the game by the horns.
It's off to Killarney Vale this Saturday in what should be a great set of matches for the Club with a players and supporters bus currently being organised. Check back on the website later on in the week for full details.
GO THE BLUES!
