In no particular order ....
TIM COTTER, on top of his very busy paid job and playing commitments, has done a fantastic job getting our new web site up and running and keeping it up to date. It is the best in the competition (in our opinion!). Tim has also assisted with coaching the Under 18s, who have been performing magnificently and, more importantly, are really enjoying their season. On top of that, Tim (with Erin's help) has produced a great array of player and committee photographs on our clubroom wall - it looks great!!
MICK DEED, our very trusty Secretary, has been looking after our committee meeting minutes and correspondence, particularly with the BDAFL. On top of that, he has looked after our injured players (we've had a few this year!) with their insurance claims and has helped out with providing audio visual equipment to our functions and other jobs around the ground and club. He fits this into his uni studies, paid work and playing commitments (deserving First Division skipper).
DEB HOLMQUEST works tirelessly as our very competent Treasurer keeping our books always in immaculate condition. On top of that she looks after all our equipment purchases, payment for umpires, coaches and trainers, purchases for canteens, Thursday night meals, helps organising the canteen with Barb Grant and also spends a lot of time in the canteen on Saturdays. Deb does all this as well as her paid job and other volunteer commitments.
JENNI HOPE has done a great job in her first year of organising functions, with the successful Mega Charity Day in May, Trivia Night, Race Night, Karaoke Night last Saturday and more to come. Jen has also helped out in the canteen, with Thursday night meals and with timekeeping. Again, Jn does this on top of her paid part-time work.
PHILL KNIGHT, around his very busy paid work, arranged our practice matches early in the season, has recovered the player records, assists the Under 18s coaches on game days, arranged sponsorships and has had a rare success at the tribunal with Bourkey!.
LYNNE WEBSTER, again around her paid job, has put together submissions to Council and State Government for funding, time keeps for First Division, helps with Thursday night meals and other odd jobs around the club.
TIM DUGGIN, around his paid work, helps out with various jobs around the club and is doing more work on the player records.
Our team managers, JAMES MACKIE, CHRIS EDWARDS and LEO KAVENAGH, volunteer their time each Saturday along with DAVE WOERNER who sets up the home ground, VICKI and LEO KAVENAGH who spend a lot of time in the canteen each home game, ERIN COTTER who helps with the ground set up and scoreboard each home game, BARBARA GRANT who has taken on the canteen stocking for each home game and time keeps for first grade, FRANK WOZNIAK who has taken on timekeeping for U18s this year, DARYL SANSON who can be seen running water every Saturday, MARC HABERMEHL who has taken on the bar stocking, JOHN HOLMQUEST and GRAHAM POOLE who can be seen in the canteen most home games, as can KATRINA STEPHENS who also has done some other great work for Groover and Steve Wilmott behind the scenes along with GRAHAME STEPHENS.
We know there are more people who chip in along the way, and players have been helpful particularly around the canteen.
Many thanks to you all and keep up the great spirit and work as we near the climax to the season.
