Going in under-strength, the first five minutes of play saw Jayson Cleaver leave the field with a broken jaw. This didn’t dampen the Blues ferocious attack on the football and persistent pressure on the Terrigal players. The first half was a very tight tussle, with the Blues managing to kick 5 goals to 2 in the second quarter to lead by 2 at halftime. With Mark Wheeler departing at the break, the boys had to dig deep with only 2 on the bench for the second half. Their response was to kick away from Terrigal with a 5-4 to 3-1 third quarter full of guts and determination, despite losing another player in Josh Avis. The last quarter saw the True Blue fighting spirit as the loss of two more players meant the boys finished with only 17 on the field. They still managed to outscore the disheartened Terrigal side to clinch one of the finest away wins in recent memory.
