Round 8 Results – 3 June 2012

This week was perfectly balanced with 4 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses. Looked at another way though we had a collective 15 goals for and 19 against.

Under 18 travelled waaay out to Narre Warren to play Casey Panthers. They had a great win 4 – 2 under some difficult circumstances, with Amira scoring two fine goals.

Under 15/16 B came back after last week’s shock loss to win 2-1 over Oakleigh Blue at home. Good all round performance, having the ball in attack for much of the game. Goals to Tarn D and Emily C.

Under 13/14 B continued their good form with a 3-0 win over Ringwood City and are 2nd on the ladder. Coach Jay considered his team played well and in particular kept their structure. He also likes the new jackets!

Under 13/14 C lost 1-3 away to Ringwood City and now sit 8th on the ladder.

Under 12 Joeys chalked up another win with a 2-1 home victory over Box Hill and remain 3rd on the ladder. First goal was a lucky one through the legs of their keeper (but hey, they still count) and the second a cracker from Charlotte.

Under 11 Kangas played Bulleen at home and lost 1-5 to a good team playing an excellent brand of passing football. Nonetheless Kangas coach Omar thought the K girls outplayed them in the second half and the Bulleen coach and manager thought that Kensington was their toughest opponent to date. Omar is looking forward to the return match.

Under 11 Joeys fought back from 0-2 down against Oakleigh to earn a 2-2 draw. The girls defended well and made lots of attempts on goal, just failing to finish off. Well done all.

Under 9 Blue played another highly entertaining game out at Eltham North, losing out to a last minute gaol and a final result losing 0-1.

Under 9 Gold did it tough and went down 0-3 away to Ashburton Women’s Gold.

Enjoy the break everyone.
