Senior Men Cap off Great Season

2 CHAMPIONSHIPS WITHIN A WEEK

Fresh off claiming the Metropolitan 6 North-West championship the Kyneton District Soccer Club senior men's team took on South-East Champions Dandenong South at Truganina on Sunday.

In blustery conditions, the game was played at a face pace, with Dandenong taking the early lead.   With the advantage of the win Kyneton found an equaliser close to halftime.

The conditions continued to affect the game in the second half, with Kyneton taking at early lead going two one up.  Dandenong with the aid of the wind continued to press hard and with only a minute to go found the net to even the scores again. Two all at fulltime

The 30 minutes of extra time could not separate the teams with both finding the net. Score after extra time was three all.

The penalty shot out was tense with each side finding the net with their penalty shots. Leading 8 – 7 Kyneton keeper, Peter Bauer, saved Dandenong's 8th shot to give the lads their second championship flag within 7 days. A great season by the team.
