The Kyneton soccer club celebrated its 40th anniversary over the weekend of 17 and 18 August.  Events for the weekend included:

• The Under 12 side wearing one of the 1970 Kyneton United Strips in their game
• The senior men playing the celebration game (and winning) against Latrobe University wearing the original colors of the club
• Re-Union of the club held on the evening 17th of August (A success)
• Senior Mens and Womens teams of the period announced and those selected presented with certificates of the achievement
• Presenting the 1979 (Div 1 and Div 3) and 1987 (Div 2) championship pennants to members of these teams (Pennants where not presented in the early years of BASL)
• Womens team wearing one of the original Maroon and Sky Blue strips in their game against Heidelberg United
• David Plant (co Founder) doing the coin toss for the start of the celebration game
• Many former players and supporters coming down to watch the celebration game and then attending the re-union

The day and weekend was a success for the club proud of its hertiage and history.  Photos from the weekend are available at:

The committee wish to thank everyone for the involvement including players, supporters, referee's and opposition clubs who were all accomodating to our celebration.

The day was made all the more memorable with the clubs under 13 side winning its championship with a dominant 10 -1 win on the Saturday.
