INFORMATION MEETING FOR MEMBERS

Surf Coast FC is holding an information meeting for members this Thursday, February 13, 6pm at the Grant Pavilion Banyul Warri Reserve.

The meeting will explain the next steps following the successful application of Surf Coast FC to the National Premier League NPL, including the two-licence arrangement for the region, as well as providing information about the establishment of a new community-level club.

The Board has accepted the NPL offer, as per the resolution of the Special General Meeting on October 3 meeting.

It should be noted that the resolution (see below) was passed at the Special General Meeting with clear undertakings in relation to the establishment of the community-level club.

Should Surf Coast FC be successful in its application, the Surf Coast FC Executive be authorised to enter into a license to participate in the National Premier League, subject to:

* continuing support for local community-level teams from the Surf Coast to provide opportunities for children and adults of all abilities to play football, as per requirements of the FFV,

* that the community-level and National Premier League teams share all existing playing and training equipment, goals, balls, etc,

* that fair and equitable access to grounds at Banyul Warri and The Quay, including the Parwon Pitch (artificial surface), be provided both to the NPL club and the community-level club,

* that the NPL Technical Director work across both clubs to undertake "coach-the-coaches" sessions that will raise the standard of coaching and training across both clubs.

That a new administrative structure be put in place to ensure community-level football on the Surf Coast is administered and controlled by players and parents from those teams, as per FFV requirements.

That, in the event of a two license scenario within the region the Board will convene a further meeting of members to discuss the issues in relation to that matter.”

All parents, junior and senior players are welcome.
