A Brief History of a Great Club!

The Belmont Swansea United Football Club was formed in 1935 under the name of the "Blacksmiths Rangers Soccer Club".

The Club changed its name to "Belmont Swansea United Soccer Club" in 1956 after promotion from the Hunter Valley competition to Northern New South Wales Second Division. The reasoning behind the name change was instigated so that one club could represent the East Lakes area of Lake Macquarie in First Division Football.

Promotion to First Division came in 1967 and the club won Grand-Finals 1970, 1977, and 1978. The club also participated in the Northern New South Wales State First Division from 1979 - 1992.

In 1985, the club took out the minor premiership in the NNSWSF State First Division and in 1986 the club won the NNSWSF State First Division Grand Final.

In 1992 although finishing a creditable sixth the club was placed in the NNSWSF Second Division due to the restructucture of the First Division competition.

In 1993, the club finished second in the NNSWSF Second Division narrowly missing the opportunity to leap back into the First Division competition.

From 1992 onwards, the club has competed in the NNSWSF Second Division and as it now known, the Northern NSW Football NEWFM First Division making numerous semi-finals and finals appearances in this time.

In 2015 the club celebrated its "80th Anniversary of Football" in the area. The club also embrased the introduction of an Under 17 Youth Competition as part of the expansion and restructure of the NEWFM First Division Competition. 2015 also saw the changing of the name of the club to "Belmont Swansea United Football Club" to align with current Football Federation Australia rulings and the continued progression of the club.
