Since then like many other clubs there have been changes. In 1971 changed the name to Broadmeadow United until 1974.

In 1974 Hamilton Red Star was formed by the President Jason Lozanovski and the Secretary Douglas Pichaloff.

In 1975 Red Star played in the Hunter Valley Competition and from there was promoted to the NSW Football Federation to 4th Division and enjoyed the promotions to 3rd Division for 2 years, 2nd Division for 2 years, and then First Division.

Red Star was relegated to 2nd Division in 1985 and changed its name to its original, Newcastle Macedonia and formed a new committee from ex-players who would take the club to where it is now.

During the 10 frustrating and successful years in 2nd Division, we enjoyed winning the Artic Cup (only 2nd Division Club to ever win it), won the minor premiership 2 times, twice grand finalist with Boby Naumov as coach and Robert Jovanovski as club captain.

1994 3 teams in the grand final and unfortunately lost in all grades with Mark Jones as our coach.

The pain of losing 3 grades was quickly replaced only to find out the next day we would be promoted to the NBN State League.  The party was on.

Promoted in 1995 using the playing name as MAGIC we used the first two years as a settling period with the coaches John Beleff, Danny Stalinescu and the club Captain Chris Acevski.

In 1997 we appointed Richard Hartley as the club coach and Mark Wilson as the club captain up to year 2000. During the four years Richard was in charge we won our first premiership ever and were grand finalists in 1997 (all 1997 players please stand), grand finalist again in 1998, Arctic Cup finalist in 1999 and in year 2000 semi-finalists and played our first game at our own home ground, Wanderer’s Oval.

2001 we appointed Steve Bland as club coach and Ryan Smith as the Club Captain, and we won the minor premiership, under 19's won both minor and major premierships with coach Robert Kolarovski and his assistant George Stojkovski.

2002 appointed Damien Smith as the head coach and to date Damien has been instrumental for many great results

2002 Presidents Cup winners and 3rd in the competition

2003 Premiers and grand finalist

2004 3rd in the competition and won the clubs first ever grand final

2005 we enjoyed the unthinkable - we won the premiership, grand final and club championship.  Damien was coach of the year for the second time.  2005 will never be forgotten. Damien has not only been the longest serving coach but by far one of Magic's most successful. Damien steps down as head coach at the end of season 2007 in style as he scores the only goal in our Reserve Grade Grand Final win against Hamilton Olympic (1-0)

2008 Broadmeadow Magic is thrilled to announce that  premiership winning coach Peter McGuinness joins Magic. High expectations and excitement fills the club as Magic emphatically claims the Presidents Cup. Early signs look fantastic, Magic is playin a beautiful brand of football, passing, speed of attack supported by rock solid defence. Magic regroup from a mid-season blip to claim 7 trophies. A historical feat in the local league. Magic claim the First Grade Minor and Major double, Reserve Grade Minor and Major double, Fair Play Award, Presidents Cup, and Club Championship. Congratulations to Pete and Reserve Grade coach James Pascoe. A special mention also goes to Magic striker Peter Haynes, claiming the NBN State League Golden Boot with 23 goals in the regular season.

In a year that couldnt get better Magic and Wanderers Oval was host to the Northern NSW Football W-League Newcastle Jets in their inaugural season. Cementing Wanderers Oval place as the premier event for football in the local League.
