COVIDsafe Football

Players, coaches, match officials, staff, volunteers and parents/guardians all have a role to play in keeping football COVIDsafe

It is vital for all club members and supporters to lead by example both at home in Waramanga and when playing away games hosted by other clubs

Key requirements - ACT Pathway Forward Phase B - 15 October 2021

Training only - get in, train, get out

  • Please read the current COVID safe plan before attending the fields
  • Players to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of training
  • Coaches to perform a roll call before the session ensuring all participants have checked in with the Check In CBR app on a mobile phone
  • Outdoor training can resume with up to 25 people per full size field for all age groups
  • Competition cannot recommence
  • One parent/carer permitted per minor (in addition to the 25 participants). Parents/carers are encouraged to remain in the car
  • Toilets can be opened – other communal areas such as canteens, kitchenettes and changerooms should remain closed. Maintain physical distancing of 1.5 metres between spectators
  • Players, staff and parents are required to leave the venue immediately after training

General

  • Anyone over the age of 12 must wear a facemask in all indoor and outdoor areas
  • Children 12 years and under do NOT need to wear a facemask
  • The only time a facemask does not have to be worn is when undertaking vigorous activity
  • There are some exemptions for people who have a physical or mental health illness or condition, or disability that makes wearing a facemask unsuitable.
  • Wash hands with soap and water (or hand sanitiser) often
  • No sharing of drink bottles, snacks or equipment
  • No handshakes, high-fives and body contact

Participants and spectators are not to attend if they:

  • Feel unwell
  • Have flu-like symptoms
  • Have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 in the preceding 14 days
  • Are at high risk from a health perspective

The ACT Sports and Recreation Pathway - 8 October announced community sport can commence training outdoors in groups of 25 from Friday 15 October. WMFC has a responsibility to protect our football family, and the broader community in the ACT and surrounding regions.

The club is required to have a plan which sets out conditions under which players, parents and coaches will engage in football which complies with conditions set by the ACT Government.
