WPL Season Opener

Weston-Molonglo FC v Tuggeranong United (ANU Willows 1)

Weston-Molonglo FC welcomes Tuggeranong United to the synthetic turf of ANU Willows 1 for the opening match of the Women’s Premier League.

With a revamped competition, we welcome the Under 16’s to the WPL. Also, welcome to all the new players to the teams and of course welcome back to our players from last season.

Whilst the 16’s are an unknown to the Premier League, a number of the team enjoyed a successful year in the 15’s Div 1 last year and hope to take that form to premier League. The 16’s are coached by Steve Rohan-Jones.

Our 19’s team with a couple of new faces will be looking to go a step further this year and make the finals. A number of the players have been together a couple of years now and are itching to taste finals footy.  The 19’s are coached by Kieran Angel.

The Prems are missing a couple of big names from last year and will also be missing a few regulars this weekend for various reasons. They have played some good football in the Fed Cup and will be looking to atone for the 2 nil loss a few weeks ago to Tuggeranong. The team has trained extremely hard over the last month and are looking forward to a strong start to the season proper. The Prems are coached by Patrick Mills.

Under 16’s kick off 10:00am

Under 19’s kick off 12:00pm

WPL kick off 2:00pm.
