Volunteers are the lifeblood of sport and vital to the successful running of any sports club. #OurClubOurCommunity have people that volunteer in many different roles – coaches, managers, Executive & sub committees (Junior and Senior arms of the club). These people can give anywhere from 20 to 300 hours, sometimes more, of unpaid work a season. They have a passion for the game and the community club they belong to, WMFC. However it is always a small crew of people that volunteer therefore shoulder much of the work. Organising approximately 900 juniors plus 250 seniors is a HUGE task! 

This is why it is so important to respect all the volunteers and we can all take another step to help them all out.

ARE YOU ABLE TO VOLUNTEER THIS SEASON?

There are lots of ways you could volunteer for #OurClubOurCommunity even if it’s for an hour on canteen / BBQ duty, or in a specific role like coach/manager or as part of one of the club committees.

While a number of volunteer positions were filled at the recent AGM and coaches appointed over the last few months, there are still some critical roles still needing to be filled:

Executive Committee – Member Protection Officer (VACANT)

Junior Committee –Boys Registrar, Age Coordinators (there are some ages without Coordinators), Assistant Merchandise Officer, General Committee Members

Senior Committee – General committee members

Club Positions - Canteen Manager, Communications Officer(s), Web Master

Junior Coaches – (U10 – U18s) – currently there are some teams WITHOUT coaches.

Line-marking helpers and general volunteers to assist with occasional tasks.

WMFC VOLUNTEER INCENTIVE PROGRAM: 

* If you volunteer to coach for the 2016 season , the club will pay for your FFA coaching course (upfront) PLUS will discount yours/or your child's registration for the 2017 season (ie. you will only have to pay the CF component).

 * If you volunteer for a committee position for the 2016 season (including all sub committees), the club will discount yours/or your child's registration for the 2017 season (ie. you will only have to pay the CF component).

 We feel that this incentive is a way to support and show appreciation to those who volunteer. Please note that all volunteers will require a “Working With Vulnerable People” cards, which can be easily obtained at this link.
