Linemarking at WMFC

Weston Molonglo FC is seeking the volunteer services of an individual or a team to provide Line Marking and general minor ground maintenance and support during the 2016 football season. The Club has allocated funds for this work and can offer re-imbursement to volunteers that offer their time, on a per field basis.

We are allocating four to five fields per week at 40min/$13 per field. We will have up to ten full fields and four 9v9 Junior fields (one full equivalent) to mark.

Fields are marked after the week's scheduled mowing and before each match day, usually Thursday or Friday afternoons. During winter months the fields typically get over-marked every second week.

During the initial few weeks of the season, dependant on grass growth, mowing rates and rain events, all or some fields may need weekly over-marking. This does establish a good amount of paint down at the base of the grass making it easier to follow in subsequent weeks.

The machine and consumables are stored at Waramanga and it will be your responsibility to manage the line marking, the minor maintenance, charging of the machine and making the request for more consumables.

It may also require transportation of the machine and paint to Chapman Oval and back to Waramanga each week to mark two Chapman fields.

The equipment consists of a battery powered machine the size and weight of a large hand pushed mower and we use pre-mixed line marking paint drums of 18lt size (18kg). The machine is pushed and manoeuvred around our grass fields and needs to be lifted into and out of transport when marking Chapman Oval.

We will provide training.

Initial set up of the fields will take place in the coming weeks to be ready for pre-season matches and the start of the regular junior and senior seasons. We will need your support at this time.

Goal posts are due to be installed during Autumn Shutdown Period 18-31st March.

The football season starts after Autumn Shutdown and runs through to mid September.

All fields are to be available for use during school holidays.

Extra services maybe requested from time to time and will be funded, such as painting of goal posts, maintenance of goal nets.
