Announcement of Men's Head Coach

Weston Molonglo FC is proud to announce that Graeme Plath has been selected as its new Men’s Head Coach. Graeme brings a wealth of experience to the role, including:

  • Over 10 years experience coaching at Premier League level in the ACT
  • Holding an FFA C License in coaching

Graeme will be in charge of the Club’s high performance program for men, including acting as Head Coach to the Capital League squad and helping to build a pathway for talented juniors to develop through the Club ranks. He will be capably assisted by Chris Webb as Capital League Reserves Coach. Chris also has strong credentials and will round out a formidable team.

“We are particularly excited to bring Graeme’s talents to the Club after he stood out in a very strong field of candidates,” said Senior Chair, Ben Sakker Kelly.

“From talking to Graeme, it was clear that he understood the Club’s mission in developing a competitive men’s high performance program, which can easily transition to Premier League football if the Club is granted a license in coming years.”

The new Head Coach is champing at the bit to begin preparations for 2014.

“Weston is a club with a proud history, and I am confident that we can return to the elite ranks of men’s football in Canberra,” Graeme said.

“I was very keen to accept the role, as it will give me a chance to help create a strong system of youth development that will serve the Club well for a strong future in the Premier League.”

Graeme’s appointment comes off the back of the Club’s first year offering Men’s Premier League U12 and U14 teams under a Memorandum of Understanding with Cooma Tigers FC. This year, the Club will also take on a PL U16 team under the arrangement.

Players interested in trialling for the Men’s Capital League squad in 2014 should watch the Club’s Facebook page, Twitter account and website for details of trials, which will be held in the new year.
