Ian Gillan joins Armadale

Armadale Soccer Club is proud to announce the involvement of Ian Gillan with our club.  Ian has a wealth of knowledge about the game which is based on his experience playing in the NSW State League and his many years of coaching at Premier League level.  Ian holds an AFC ‘A’ licence and has an impressive resume which includes recent roles as Team Manager and Staff Coach with Perth Glory.

Prior to moving to WA, Ian coached in NSW. He has coached at Fraser Park FC (2002-2004) and was named NSW coach of the year in 2003.  Ian has held the position of first grade coach at Penrith Nepean United and, before moving to Perth was a presenter on the radio show ‘From the Bench’.

Ian has a very successful career in football and comes to the club with experience in coaching players of all age groups.  Under Ian’s stewardship, teams have been turned around.  His knowledge of the game, ability to read the play and communicate with players are some of his many strengths.

Ian will work with a strong team of coaches that will be the driving force behind Armadale’s entry into the National Premier League (NPL) in 2014.  This coaching team will oversee a training program for Armadale’s NPL teams which will centre on the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Football Curriculum.
