Canteen and BBQ Duties

 CANTEEN DUTIES

    • Please be at the canteen half an hour before the first game (normally 8.30am for a 9.00am kick-off)
    • Canteen Supervisor or committee member will be there to give you an overview of duties, prices etc
    • Frozen stock from previous week may have been placed in fridge to thaw – please use this first - packaging should be marked with an X .(NOT to be re- frozen)
    • If not already done, turn on pie oven and when preheated place 6-8 pies and sausage rolls in oven. Detailed instructions on pin board above oven
    • Please keep 2 dozen each of pies and sausage rolls for Sunday games. Keep separate in labelled tub in fridge.
    • Ensure power to coffee machine is on (just check power point)
    • If getting a large amount of $50.00 notes, place in fixed locked box on shelf above till.
    • When selling socks or shorts, place money in an envelope and label “socks & shorts” so we can separate from canteen takings

    • Referees for SSF will come to canteen for payment – they need to sign the sheet in folder and receive cash from the till as per the relevant rate for the game noted in the folder
    • When not busy, check stock, sweep floor and have a complimentary cup of coffee /tea. Please empty bin as required and replace liner
    • Please also check toilet – if necessary replace toilet paper, sweep floor and empty bin
    • When finished shift, pass all information onto next shift – ie advise which pies and drinks have been recently stocked, how to use coffee machine, prices etc.

Restock and rotate drinks, lollies, chips

Restock and rotate drinks, chocolates, chips – please return lolly bags to labelled sealed containers.

Wipe down benches, clean sink, sweep & mop floors, empty bin and replace liner.

  • Freeze any sausages, pies, sausage rolls and muffins that are in fridge. Mark with red X
  • Freeze any unused onion
  • Bacon and eggs can remain in fridge

Any leftover HEATED pies or sausage rolls NOT TO BE FROZEN. Sell for $1.50

 BBQ DUTIES 

    • Please be at BBQ half an hour before the first game (normally 8.30am for a 9.00am kick-off)
    • Sweep out BBQ area and spray and wipe down serving bench
    • If not already set up, please do so, gear will be in sheds. Ask committee person on duty if you cannot find them.(ie gas bottle, burners, white trestle table). Please bring a garbage bin over to the BBQ area - from the filed entrance area - if not already done
    • Sausages, bacon, eggs, (all in fridge), bread and utensils (labelled tub) will be in canteen ready for you to start cooking. Bags of sliced onion are stored in freezer drawer OR fresh onions in fridge to be sliced
    • OPTIONAL: Keep meat in esky near BBQ to keep cold and to save you from running in and out of canteen all the time. 
    • Food is paid for at the canteen and you will be given a token showing what has been paid for: egg and bacon sandwich OR sausage (plus onion) sandwich. Please recycle tokens back to canteen 
    • When cooked please cut sausage in half and then in half lengthwise so you have a flat surface to lay on bread 
    • BBQ to finish around half time of last game or 2pm whichever is earliest. 
    • Please turn off gas, put bottle away in referees shed, clean BBQ and trestle table and wash up utensils. Place back in BBQ tub which remains in canteen. 
    • Please put any open bottles of sauce in fridge . 
    • LAST TEAM ON DUTY SATURDAY – gas bottle and white trestle table to be put away in shed. Burners can stay on BBQ 
    • LAST TEAM ON DUTY SUNDAY – gas bottle and burners and white trestle table to be put away in sheds

When handling fresh or cooked food please wear gloves and use handwash as necessary
