I left the house and the sun was out and it was looking like a beautiful day for footy. We start driving out to Inland Athletic Fields are the sky is very dark, but I am learning thats just Calgary weather, changes on the drop of a dime.
Get to the fields and its very water logged. Coming from Perth, Australia originally where its unusal to play AFL in the rain in the winter time, it was a bit of a shock.
With the Cowboys a few short, some few modifications were made to the teams to even things out and of we went for the first bounce.
The ball spent much of the first quarter locked in the Bears foward 50 however we couldn't score as many goals as we would have liked and it cost us.
Many contests all over the ground with the ball hitting the deck or skidding on due to the very wet ground.
The Cowboys ended up winning 6.3.27 to the Bears 3.6.24.
The next game the Bears and Cowboys travel to Kelowna to compete in the Kelowna Cup. Matches will be played between Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver area teams. There will also be an All Canadian Inter Provinsional match between Alberta and B.C.
