The Edwards Medal
The Edwards medal is awarded to the best and fairest player of the Morningside Masters (over 40's) during the AFL Masters Season.
The award is named after the great Edwards families to have represented the Morningside club in the AFLQ.
Dean Edwards was the Grogan Medalist in 1998, Craig Edwards, three time premiership player for Morningside and two club fairest and best awards and is the current club record games holder at 247 games, and finally premiership player Brad Edwards.
All great players and considered club champions in their individual right.
We thank the Edwards families for honouring the best and fairest players within the Morningside Masters teams by naming this medal.
Like the McGuinness Medal, votes are awarded on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis at the conclusion of each game with votes awarded for all round performances and significant contributions.
