The Toronto Dingos came into their round 4 match against the High Park Demons full of confidence after some early season wins and, and although the weather threatened, the rain held off and the ground held up well for a great game of footy.
The Red and Black started out well with a quick goal after a 50m penalty, but the Demons held strong and put up one of their own. The quarter finished with both teams registering a goal a piece.
In the second, it was all one way traffic with the Dees registering 6 goals to 1 with their young mid field and half back line dominating and the Dingos struggling to get their hands on the ball. At half time Mick urged his payers to continue to push and never give up. Some positional changes were made and the Dingos were ready for the third.
Kicking with a strong breeze, the midfield started to get on top in the third and the ball was accurately moved forward where Yoni became a catalyst up forward and the Dingos stormed back to kick 5 goals to 1. At the end of the third the Dingos were down by a goal and a handful of behinds.
The Demons had the breeze in the fourth quarter and managed to utilize it to kick 3 goals to 1. Final score was High Park 11.11.77 to Dingos 8.5.53. A disappointing loss, but the Dingos look ahead to next week where they face the Toronto Rebels in Hamilton.
Congratulations To Templar Iga and Dave Nighbor who played in their first game for the Dingos. Full match details can be found here, while photos from the game can be found here.
