The Swans soared on the road as they cinched their first win of the season against the High Park Demons on June 8.
Many at Humber South were expecting the Demons to pull out a win, and may have written off the Swans at the half time.
But despite being down several goals at half time, the players came together as a team to see some huge tackles and relentless defense carry them strong through 80 minutes of play.
Coach Rod said the contribution across every position was first rate and he work rate, tackling, run, and contested pressure never relented all day, and ultimately cracked the opposition.
He was also pleased to see strong contested marks and fantastic work at ground level.
This game, he decided not to set any best on ground players.
“I didn't have to - because for the first time this year they all played as a team, and everyone contributed, and shone, not just a handful,” he said.
The Swans will be hard at work this week getting ready for their round four match, as they currently sit in seventh place.

While the men pulled out a victory, it was a split day for the Swan ladies as they fell to the reining premiers, the Lady Dees.
The Demons came out with a strong middle section, lead by last year’s league best and fairest. It was the first time the women had played on the full-sized field at the OAFL level, with 14 players taking the field.
Coach Chris Lockart said on baller Emma Dickinson was relentless, running and working hard throughout the game, supported by great work in the ruck by Holly Costanza.
On defense, Brier Dodge had great shepherding attempts, and Catherine Geci, selected player’s player, was sold against a very tough opponent.
He also wanted to congratulate new players Alyssa Caissie and Erin Armstrong for their strong play in their first ever OAFL games.
The ladies need to work on capitalizing on inside 50 possessions, and have work to do this week in practice to get ready for their round four match on the road against the Hamilton Wildcats.
Goals scored by: Meghan Haycock.
Final score: Demons 3.0 (18) to Swans 1.0 (6).
