The Ottawa Swans Australian Football Club is proud to announce the addition of Marc Magierowicz as the club's new Assistant Coach for the 2012 season. Following a chorus of very skilled and committed assistants, Marc was approached by the club early in the new year to fulfill the very demanding role as both a player and coach. He was only too happy to oblige; "I'm glad to be considered for the position. It will be an interesting experience to be a part of the coaching staff and playing for the team on the field, as well. I hope that I will be able to offer some of my experience to the mix in a positive way and continue to help the team and club build on past successes."
As the club continues to cultivate talent, a number of prospective candidates were identified for the role, leaving a difficult choice for Head Coach Chris MacLean. In the end, Chris feels the club made an excellent selection and applauded Marc's ascent to the position. "Marc brings a lot to the table. He has been exposed to footy for some time and his background in coaching and athletics are huge assets to the club. With Marc's input, we've been able to implement some new ideas and different approaches to training, which the players have embraced and we're seeing improvements in both their fitness and skill levels."
The club wishes our new Assistant Coach the best in this new endeavour and looks forward to continued success with Chris and Marc at the helm.
GO SWANS!
